Coeur d'Alene -

When Sabrina Paxton's not busy maintaining her perfect GPA, you can usually find her on Fernan Lake in Coeur d'Alene.
"It's really nice, you're on the lake, you're out with nature.  It's really peaceful," Paxton says.
She's also making history with the Coeur d'Alene Rowing Association junior program - a group of high school athletes which compete against local college teams.
"This is the first high school rowing program in the state of Idaho and I could not be more proud of any youngster," her coach, Martin Stacey says.
And when Paxton races, her personality helps a group of eight row as one.

"A quiet leader, an effective rower, and a dedicated scholar of the sport," Stacey says.
"She's very easy going, kind of shy, but once you get to know her she's a bunch of fun. She's really hard working," teammate Hailey Peters-Clark says.
And philanthropic.  Paxton mentors freshman at Coeur d'Alene High School and also volunteers at a local soup kitchen.
"I think it's important to give back to the community and give back to what they've given me," Paxton says.
Stace adds, "Very engaged in the success of her peers.  I'm proud to know her, really."
Truly a student-athlete whose impact goes well beyond Fernan lake.
