The Cheney Blackhawks are widely considered to be the best boys high school soccer team on the east side of the state... at any level. They are certainly the best in the Great Northern League after Wednesday night's 2-0 win over Pullman in the District tournament title game.

It was scoreless at half, but Cheney senior Forester Seipp scored two goals in a six minute span to give the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead they would hold on to until the end. Cheney improves to 17-0 this season with the win, and gets a bye to state. Pullman will host a regional tournament game on Saturday.

In the late GNL contest, West Valley took a 2-1 lead into half against East Valley... and made that lead stick through a scoreless second half. Brandon Ray scored the game winner for the Eagles who will play Othello in a regional game on Saturday. East Valley's season comes to an end.

In 3A regional play, Mt. Spokane fell behind Kennewick 3-0. Jack Gularte got the Wildcats on the board in the second half, but they didn't have near enough falling 4-1. Mt. Spokane hosts a must win to make state on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Joe Albi.
