SPOKANE -

Gonzaga Prep and Mt. Spokane wrapped up District titles on the diamond, and also earned top seeds for next week's sub-regionals.

The Bullpups topped Mead 6-4 in nine innings on Friday as Zach Bonneau delivered the game-winning hit at Avista Stadium.  Max Graves earned the win on the mound for GPrep, who had to win games two and three to capture the 4A District Title.

GPrep will be the No. 1 seed in the 4A subregional, followed by Mead as the No. 2 and Ferris as the No. 3.  The Big 9 will have three representatives as well.  The opening round is Tuesday.

In the 3A District title series, Mt. Spokane swept a double-header, beating University 2-1 in Game 1, and 4-3 in Game 2 at Gonzaga Prep.

Nate Spurbeck delivered the game-winning hit in the bottom of the 8th as the Wildcats took a 1-0 series lead.  He also set up the game-winning run in the second game with a sacrifice bunt.

The Titans scored two runs in the bottom of the 6th inning in Game 2 to take a 3-1 lead into the top of the 7th.  But the Wildcats put runners on second and third with nobody out, and Brandon Goehring came through with a 2-run single to left.  Goehring also tossed six strong innings on the mound for Mt. Spokane.

Tucker Sanford delivered the go-ahead run with an RBI sac fly to center to give the Wildcats a 4-3 lead.

Drew Rasmussen earned the save on the mound as Mt. Spokane hung on for the Game 2 win and series title.

The 3A subregional also starts on Tuesday.
