Lakers forward Pau Gasol told this newspaper he plans to seek medical clearance to participate in running drills once the Lakers return Thursday from a two-game trip. Gasol has missed 12 games in the past month since tearing the plantar fascia of his right foot. At the team's morning shootaround Tuesday, Gasol worked with strength and conditioning coach Tim DiFrancesco on exercises that test his gluteal and neuro muscles. "Things have been good," said Gasol, who's expected to miss at least two to four more weeks.
