With the entire sports world turning its attention to the Super Bowl this week, The Sports Xchange asked NBA and NHL players and officials for their predictions on the NFL's title game.
"Who do I really think is going to win it? It's heart vs. head. I think the Broncos are going to win it. Heart? I want Seattle to win it. I grew up in Portland, so I wanted either Seattle or San Francisco to win it. Peyton (Manning) is on a mission, I think. You saw how the Seahawks were celebrating after they had won (the AFC title game). And how the Broncos were? Peyton was like, focused. Score? I'll say 34-31 Broncos." -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love.
"Seattle and defense, to make it quick. '85 Bears. It always comes back to that. Defense wins championships." -- Los Angeles Clippers coach Doc Rivers.
"Seattle 23, Denver 17. It's going to be cold, and defense is going to be at a premium. The Seahawks' defense is just a little better than the Broncos'." -- Portland Trail Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
"I think I'm going to go to it. I've got the Broncos for sure, by at least a touchdown. Peyton Manning, man. Peyton Manning, you can't go against him. They've had a good year all year long. The Seahawks are good, too, and (Richard) Sherman is a beast. I like Russell Wilson a lot, but I'm a big Peyton guy. This is the first-ever Super Bowl I'm going to." -- Houston Rockets forward Chandler Parsons.
"The Seahawks will win 17-13. Their defense is going to score a touchdown. I don't think Peyton Manning will be able to throw the ball in the blizzard, and Marshawn Lynch is just too tough. Oh, and someone will get a field goal blocked. You heard it here first." -- Phoenix Suns forward Channing Frye.
"Once my Saints were beaten, I didn't see anybody beating the Seahawks. I'm not saying that I hate the Seahawks because they beat (New Orleans) twice. The Broncos are a very good team. The Seahawks are a very physical team. They have a great defense. The Broncos are offensively strong, with three great wide receivers and a helluva quarterback. ... Plus one of the guys in the Broncos' receiving corps I went to school with (at Georgia Tech), Demaryius Thomas. ... I pick the Broncos." -- Philadelphia 76ers forward Thaddeus Young.
"I'm a huge Seahawks fan. I can see their practice facility from my house in Seattle, and I drove by there every day and watched practices. I love their defense, they get after it, so nobody but the Seahawks in a low-scoring game, bad weather, 21-7." -- Toronto Raptors coach Dwane Casey.
"Denver will win because of Peyton Manning. I'm not ready to name the score yet." -- Cleveland Cavaliers forward Luol Deng.
"I'm gonna take the Broncos by seven. And I think they can battle the weather. Being in Denver, hopefully they got a little taste of that." -- Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley.
"Broncos 21 Seahawks 13. What Peyton Manning did to the Patriots was crazy. I know the Seahawks have a good defense, but you can't pick against Peyton Manning." -- Washington Wizards forward Trevor Booker.
"Denver, because they have the veteran quarterback and the veteran coach." -- Dell Curry, former NBA player, current Charlotte Bobcats TV announcer and father of Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry.
"I'm going to watch the game and I think Denver will win. I like Peyton Manning and I want him to get another championship." -- Atlanta Hawks center Elton Brand.
"I think the Denver Broncos are going to win. Why? Because I live in Denver. I also just found out yesterday for Chinese New Year it's the year of the horse. So how can you go against that?" -- Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw.
"I would like to see Peyton Manning get another one. I know the Seahawks' defense is a very tough obstacle, but I would like to see him win another one." -- Detroit Pistons center Greg Monroe.
"My team (the New Orleans Saints) is out, so I really don't care who wins. But I love Peyton. I think if he wins, he might look at retiring and go out with a bang. It's going to be a good game. Seattle is great team. Denver is a great team. It's going to be a heck of a game. I'll say Broncos, 10-7." -- New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis.
"(I pick Denver.) I like Peyton Manning. I think he has so many of the characteristics of Kevin Durant. He's just a classy guy. He's a winner. He's a student of the game ... but he's probably one of the toughest football players to ever play the game." -- Oklahoma City Thunder coach Scott Brooks.
"I don't really care because I'm a Colts fan. But I'm going to go with Peyton (Manning) because he played for the Colts and I don't want Marv (Williams) to be wearing all of his Seattle stuff all around the locker room." -- Utah Jazz shooting guard Gordon Hayward.
"Man, it's a lot of hate coming from Gordon right there. A lot of hate. A lot of guys are pulling for Denver. I can't lose, I feel like. Peyton Manning and Ray Lewis were my favorite players growing up. Seattle obviously is my favorite team (as a Bremerton, Wash., native). Next Sunday, I can't lose. I win either way." -- Utah Jazz forward Marvin Williams.
"Denver all the way. Pretty dimple reasoning. Peyton Manning is the best. He went to the University of Tennessee. That helps." -- Orlando Magic forward Tobias Harris.
"28-24 Seattle. The difference is our defense, getting the key stops. Fourth quarter, we're going to hold them to zero points." -- Brooklyn Nets guard (and Seattle native) Jason Terry.
"I like Denver because of Peyton Manning, but I would like to see (Richard) Sherman get a ring. He reminds me a lot of myself. Denver, 28-21." -- New York Knicks guard J.R. Smith.
"Seahawks. Yeah, my man Pete Carroll! But I'm scared though. I'm scared of (Peyton) Manning. Score? I don't know, but it's going to be a close one." -- Los Angeles Lakers forward Nick Young.
