The Mt. Spokane Wildcats kept their perfect season alive with a 3-1 win over University to capture the 3A district title on Wednesday night at SFCC.
Titans senior keeper Taylor Lang kept U-Hi in it with 11 saves, including two diving efforts in the first half. But Lang could only do so much. Carly Frank broke through with the first goal of the game late in the first half, then Danika Martin scored to start the second half to give Mt. Spokane a 2-0 lead. The Titans cut the lead in half, thanks to a tally from Rylee Rassier. But Mt. Spokane would score again to win it 3-1.
The Wildcats improved to 15-0 on the year with the win and are the GSL's top seed to 3A regionals. University will play Shadle Park on Friday for the second seed. The Highlanders beat North Central 2-1 in the early game on Wednesday night. The Indians will be the fourth seed to regionals.
