High school football, soccer highlights - Thursday, 11-1
In GNL football, Pullman and Cheney punched their post-season tickets, while the GSL's Central Valley and Rogers both won their cross-overs. And the Mt. Spokane girls soccer team continued its perfect season, clinching the region title.
GNL FOOTBALL
Heading into the night, five different teams with a shot at two playoff spots: Pullman, West Valley, East Valley, Deer Park, and Cheney. Here's how those playoff spots were decided, starting with Thursday night's results:
Colville def. Pullman (4-2), 26-20
Cheney (4-2) def. Clarkston, 28-19
East Valley (4-2) def. Deer Park (3-3), 35-24
West Valley (4-2) no game because of bye
GSL CROSS-OVERS
Central Valley had no problem with Hanford, beating the Falcons 42-0 at CV High School.
Rogers also notched its first win of the season, beating North Central 28-21 at Joe Albi Stadium.
3A Regional Girls Soccer
Mt. Spokane (17-0) added another title to its perfect season with a 2-0 win over Kamiakin in the 3A girls soccer regional. Alyssa Lloyd scored late in the first half, and Riley Richardson scored on a set-piece with 13 minutes to go in the second half to lead the GSL champs to victory. The Wildcats will play in the 3A state tournament beginning next week, time and site TBA.
