The high school volleyball season got underway on Tuesday night with some very close matches in the Greater Spokane League.
Shadle Park, Lewis & Clark, and Rogers all got off to 1-0 starts thanks in part to five set wins. The Highlanders topped Gonzaga Prep behind a monster effort from Darby Santos. She led her team in kills, assists, and digs. At University, LC battled back from a two sets to one deficit. And at North Central, Rogers also battled back down two sets to one, thanks in part to 48 assists from Sydney Roberts.
In non-league action, Colfax went to Freeman and topped the Scotties in four sets. Amelie Bruya had 32 assists in the victory for the Bulldogs.
