UNIVERSITY 69, MT. SPOKANE 57 - Mt. Spokane's Stu Stiles netted 26 points, only to be out-done by UHigh's Brett Bailey who scored 29 to lead the Titans to a 12-point GSL road-win on Friday. University is now 2-0 in league, 3-0 overall.
CENTRAL VALLEY 42, LEWIS & CLARK 40 - Playing without senior star Austin Rehkow, the Bears clawed their way to a 2-point road victory over Lewis & Clark on Friday. Adam Chamberlain led all scorers with 13 points for CV. Dean Richey, who was averaging 22 points per game heading into Friday's game, was held to a team-high 11 points. The Bears are now 2-0 in the GSL and 3-0 overall.
HS Girls Basketball
LEWIS & CLARK 66, CENTRAL VALLEY 56 - Freshman guard Riley Lupfer had 16 points as Lewis & Clark beat Central Valley, 66-56 at LCHS on Friday. Madison Hovren had 23 points to lead all scorers. LC improves to 2-0 in the GSL and 2-0 overall.
GONZAGA PREP 58, NORTH CENTRAL 29 - Three Bullpups scored in double-figures, led by Madison Wright's 15 points, as Gonzaga Prep beat North Central 58-29. Laura Stockton added 12 points while Otiona Gildon had 11. GPrep is now 2-0 in the GSL and 2-0 overall.
Central Valley's Austin Rehkow is in Los Angeles this weekend for the HS Football Awards ceremony, which takes place Saturday night. Rehkow is one of three finalists for the Chris Sailer award, which is given to the nation's best high school place kicker. Rehkow garnered national attention for kicking a 67-yard field goal back in October.
