SPOKANE, Wash. -- Elias Harris had 20 points and nine rebounds and Kelly Olynyk added 15 points and a career-high 11 rebounds in No. 2 Gonzaga's 81-52 victory over Portland on Saturday afternoon.
Gonzaga (29-2) finished 16-0 in the West Coast Conference. The Bulldogs' 12th consecutive win may vault them into the No. 1 spot in one or both major national polls Monday for the first time in school history.
Gary Bell Jr. scored 14 points and knocked down four 3-pointers to complement the inside dominance of Harris and Olynyk against the Pilots (11-20, 4-12).
Derrick Rodgers, Portland's lone senior, led the Pilots with 10 points. Portland shot just 28.8 percent (17 of 59) from the field, compared to 49.2 percent (31 of 63) for the Bulldogs.
Portland, the No. 8 seed in the WCC tournament in Las Vegas, will open tourney play Wednesday against No. 9 seed Loyola Marymount. As the No. 1 seed, Gonzaga automatically advances to Saturday's semifinals.
Gonzaga led 46-27 at halftime. The Bulldogs have led by at least 11 points at halftime in all eight WCC home games.
The Bulldogs trailed 9-7 before a 13-0 run pushed them ahead to stay. Gonzaga led 46-21 before going scoreless in the final three minutes of the half.
Harris and Olynyk were dominant inside. Harris had 13 points, seven rebounds and three steals by halftime, and Olynyk added eight points, six rebounds and four steals.
The Bulldogs outscored Portland 26-4 in the paint in the first half. Gonzaga shot 61.3 percent from the floor and held Portland to 30.3 percent despite the Pilots' 7-for-13 effort (53.8 percent) from 3-point range.
NOTES: Gonzaga's three seniors were saluted on Senior Day: starting forward Harris, starting guard-forward Mike Hart and former starting forward Guy Landry Edi. The latter made his first start since Jan. 10. ... Olynyk, a redshirt junior, also may have played in his final home game. He's projected to go in the first round of the NBA draft if he chooses to turn pro. Olynyk has said he won't make a decision on his future until after the season. ... Gonzaga's .933 winning percentage through Friday was the best in NCAA Division I. The Bulldogs were second in field-goal shooting percentage (50.6), third in scoring margin (plus-18.0), ninth in scoring (78.3) and 11th in rebound margin (plus-7.5). Olynyk was fourth in field-goal shooting percentage (66.2). ... Junior forward Ryan Nicholas, the Pilots' leading scorer and rebounder the past two seasons, attended Gonzaga Prep. The Bulldogs did not recruit Nicholas.
