A former Raiders teammate of cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha and safety Charles Wooodson reported early Friday that the 49ers are in "serious discussion" with the two players. Akbar Gbajabiamila, who played linebacker for the Raiders in 2003 and '04 and now works for the NFL Network, earlier wrote on Twitter that he predicted the "Bay Area will return two of its favorite sons." Asomugha played for the Raiders from 2003 to 2010, while Woodson was in Oakland from 1998 to 2005. Late Thursday, a source close to the process told CSNBayArea.com that there was "absolutely" nothing imminent with the 49ers and Asomugha. Woodson's agent, Carl Poston, told 95.7 The Game on Thursday afternoon that he was waiting to hear back from the 49ers. When Woodson visited on Wednesday, the sides never spoke about a contract, he said. Poston said if the dollar figures were right, Woodson would like to play for the 49ers. Both Asomugha and Woodson underwent physicals while visiting the 49ers. The 49ers also visited Thursday with Detroit Lions free agent safety Louis Delmas and inside linebacker Dan Skuta. The 49ers announced the signing of Skuta, formerly of the Cincinnati Bengals, to a two-year contract late Thursday.
