Highway 395 at Larsen Beach Road in Stevens County reopened around 10 pm Wednesday night after a two car collision involving a Washington state trooper.
The trooper was traveling southbound when he slowed to make a u-turn and peruse a northbound driver and was struck from behind.
The trooper was transported to an area hospital with neck pain, but was treated and released. The driver of the second car and their passenger, who was not wearing a seat belt, were also transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time it does not appear the driver of the second vehicle was impaired in any way. Investigators are still working to learn if speed was a factor. No word yet if the driver will face charges.
