SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -

The Spokane Valley Police Department is investigating the theft of six cars Tuesday, with five of them being Honda Accords.

In addition to the Accords, one Acura Integra was stolen and there was an attempted theft of a Honda Civic.

While two of the thefts occurred in residential areas, three were stolen from the Valley Mall parking lot while another was taken from the Costco parking lot.

The Spokane Valley Police Department said there have been more vehicle prowlings so far this year than during the same time period over the last four years.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau reported last year that the most stolen vehicle across the United States in 2011 was the 1994 Honda Accord, while the 1994 Acura Integra was ranked sixth.

Crime Stoppers of the Inland Northwest is offering a reward to anyone who can provide information that could help lead to an arrest in these vehicle thefts. You can call 1-800-222-TIPS to leave information anonymously or post the tip to their website at www.crimestoppersinlandnorthwest.org.
