SPOKANE, Wash. -

The U.S. Marshals Service, with the assistance of the Spokane SWAT Team, arrested a dangerous felon on a firearms warrant at the Apple Tree Inn in North Spokane Thursday.

The warrant, issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, was against Jacob Peckham, who has an extensive criminal history and was wanted for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

"Great cooperation, we worked with the city SWAT team and the K-9, we called them this morning, we have been doing some different investigations, we figured out where we thought he was at, we knew a cab was coming to pick him up, we followed the cab, when he got in the cab we made the arrest," Bob Doty with the U.S. Marshals Service said.

Peckham pleaded not guilty in federal court Thursday on the charge and his bail hearing is set for the Oct. 16.

His wife was also arrested for outstanding warrants on unrelated misdemeanor charges.
