SPOKANE, Wash. -

If you're looking for that perfect fit when it comes to working out, The Union is a brand new gym opening downtown that offers yoga and spinning classes and officially opens for business Thursday.

Owners Nick Murto and Tyler Lafferty say the high intensity workout you'll get with their spinning classes coupled with the mobility you'll learn in yoga is something you just won't find in Spokane.

"Not at all like a normal spin class; we crank the music, it's really loud, the black lights are on. It's kind of an amazing dance party on a bike," Murto said.

Murto and Lafferty brought this concept to Spokane because, quite frankly they wanted it, and good news, for their business, so do a lot of people.

"The response has been absolutely fantastic," Lafferty said. "People really seem to get involved and really want to be a part of this."

They do indeed. For the past two weeks The Union has offered free promotional classes to get Spokane excited. All of those have been completely booked with people on wait lists, and for good reason.

"It's awesome. It's unlike any other spun class you come here you don't even realize you're exercising. It's phenomenal," Jessica Humphrey said.

"It totally confuses your brain, you think you're at a club but really you're working hard and getting a good workout and it's easy on your body and a lot of fun," Lynn Hocking said.

"The combination of yoga and spin is perfect. You're getting the flexibility and injury prevention out of yoga, and the cardio you're getting out of spin, so the two together is a great marriage," Murto said.

"I think those two work really well together. It's a good overall workout," Lafferty added.

The Union is located at 121 West Pacific Avenue Suite 400.
