Arnoldo Mendoza, wanted for attempted murder for the shooting of Luis Murillo last week, was arrested on Thursday evening at a home on Mountain View Drive in Quincy.
Acting on tips from the public and other information, Sheriff's Deputies, Quincy Police, the U.S. Marshals Service, and the Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team raided the home around 5:30 PM. Mendoza was arrested without incident.
Mendoza has been on the run since allegedly shooting Murillo around 7:30 AM on July 19 in a blueberry orchard west of Quincy. Mendoza fled in a pickup truck which was found abandoned in a nearby orchard and he had escaped an intensive dragnet ever since.
Grant County Sheriff Tom Jones and Quincy interim Police Chief Greg Meinzer express their thanks to the citizens of the area for the many pieces of information which helped lead officers to Mendoza.
