SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane police are searching for the suspect in a Browne's Addition armed robbery Thursday night.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Police say a man walked into the Sunset Grocery with a gun and escaped with an unspecified amount of money. K9 units were called in and tracked the robber to a home under construction near 2nd and Cannon.

Police believed the robber may have been hiding inside, but a sweep of the property turned up nothing.

"We know that Browne's Addition is a highly pedestrian traveled area. He coudl ahve gotten into one of the multiple housing units that are in the area or got into a car and left," said Lieutenant Eric Olsen.

The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build between 5'10" and 6' tall. He was wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans and a bandana over his face.
