SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash. -

A red flag warning and gusty winds were a good test for fire containment lines in the Spokane Complex fires.

The Yale Road fire is now 95 percent contained, a 10 percent increase from Saturday. Crews continue to focus on mop-up, making sure hot spots are put out and removing unburned fuel. A new fire started south of the Yale Road Fire on Saturday, but local fire districts were quick to extinguish it.

The Wellesley Fire is 100 percent contained and is expected to stay within its perimeters.

Officials say a number of resources are being released and returning to their home units or heading to other fires. Crews expect Monday to be their last day of work.

Valley Chapel Road reopened around 8 p.m. Saturday. Officials ask drivers to be award of hazards that might be along the roadways. Evacuations are no longer in place.
