AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -

This year marked the 16th Oscar Night Gala hosted by the Spokane AIDS Foundation.

The event was hosted at the Northern Quest Resort and Casino and guests dined on a three course meal while bidding on both live and silent auction items.

Items auctioned off included signed CDs and movies by well-known musicians and actors, artwork, and jewelry. Going along with this years theme, a Wicked package was also up for auction.

The Chair of the event, Grant Ogren, said, on average the event raises around $45,000 for the organization. The event is their biggest fundraiser of the year and the most rewarding for the volunteers.

"Seeing the smiles on people's faces and the way they're interacting, and people fighting for a bid on a silent auction item. Just the excitement that their spending their Sunday evening together dressed up," said Ogren.
