Spokane City Councilman Steve Salvatori has announced he is resigning his position effective July 8.
Salvatori was elected in 2011 and sworn into office in 2012 for a four-year term, cutting his term in office short by a year and a half.
Salvatori says growth at Salvatori-Scott, the company he founded, requires him to move to Dallas, Texas.
Spokane Mayor David Condon released a statement in the wake of Salvatori's announcement which said, “Council member Salvatori has been a big part of making needed change in Spokane. Even when we have disagreed, I have appreciated his perspective and impassioned arguments."
