Police identify bodies discovered after mobile home fire

SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identify of two deceased individuals found after a mobile home fire on Monday in West Spokane.

The first body was identified Tuesday as 50-year-old Keith Barber.

The second individual was identified Wednesday as 41-year-old Robert "Amanda" Blanchard, who is transgendered.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner's Office has been unsuccessful in locating Blanchard's next of kin and would ask that anyone who has information please contact them at (509) 477-2296.

Spokane Police confirmed they are investigating their deaths as a murder-suicide. Police believe the homicide suspect shot the other person inside the residence, set fire to the mobile home, then committed suicide. A gun was found at the scene of the fire in the Cascade Mobile Home Park, located at 2311 W. 16th off Highway 195.

They have not released the cause of the two individuals deaths, saying they are "pending further investigation."
