The Montana Highway Patrol says a 26-year-old Missoula woman died and two people from Germany were injured in a head-on crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 near Anaconda.
Anaconda-Deer Lodge Coroner Gerald Thomas tells The Montana Standard that Kyra Williams died in the crash Saturday afternoon.
The patrol says Williams was eastbound when a vehicle in front of her hit part of a semi tire in the road, sending it into the air, causing her to lose control of her car.
Her car went across the median and into the westbound lanes where it struck a sport utility vehicle head-on. The collision injured the two people in the SUV -- 37-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman, both from Germany.
