MISSOULA, Mont. -

A Missoula man who pleaded guilty to shooting an East Missoula convenience store clerk during a robbery attempt has been sentenced to 70 years in prison.

District Judge Ed McLean sentenced 24-year-old Christopher Lee Burch to 100 years in prison with 30 suspended after a hearing Thursday.

Burch earlier pleaded guilty to attempted deliberate homicide and felony robbery.

Prosecutors say Burch went into an Ole's Country Store in September 2012 with a rifle and shouted: "Give me all the money." When Adam Gallegos ignored his order, he was shot and critically injured. Gallegos lost a lung and his spleen and said he had a stroke attributed to the shooting.

The getaway driver, Preston Hanna, is serving a 20-year prison sentence.
