SPOKANE, Wash. -

Officials say more than 500 firefighters responded to the Spokane Complex Fire and Wednesday morning Incident Commander Nate Rabe and Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers came out to the fairgrounds to provide feedback.

“It's always devastating when we have the losses that we have," says McMorris Rodgers.

The Wellesley Fire has burned 365 acres, destroying two homes. The Yale Road Fire burned more than 6,800 acres and destroyed 10 homes. Tuesday evening evacuations for the Yale Road Fire were downgraded to a Level 1.

"We need to be looking at better forest management, I've introduced legislation to address the condition of the forest," says McMorris Rodgers.

"The firefighters appreciate the farmers and the residents that lent their aid in helping us control this fire," says Rabe.

The cause of the Spokane Complex Fire is still under investigation.
