SPOKANE, Wash. -

Despite saying she "absolutely disagrees" with some of his statements, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers Tuesday confirmed she will continue to support presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Rep. McMorris Rodgers said in a statement, "I have said all along that I absolutely disagree with some of Donald Trump's statements - especially the video released on Friday. I will be voting for Mr. Trump because I believe that we must defeat Hillary Clinton who has a record of deliberately misleading the American people."

Her statement continues, "She lacks transparency and accountability. I will continue to promote our Better Way agenda that is defining what it means to be a Republican and is so foundational to demonstrate the choice Americans have in this election."

Rep. McMorris Rodgers is the highest-ranking Republican woman in Congress, representing the 5th District of Washington.

She's up for re-election, facing Democratic challenger Joe Pakootas. In a statement Monday, Pakootas called on McMorris Rodgers to withdraw her support for Trump.

"She has a moral obligation to the people of the 5th Congressional District," Pakootas said. "If she doesn't [withdraw her support], she is unfit to serve on moral grounds."
