Jay and Kevin from 99.9 Coyote Country are back at it again, hosting their annual food drive for Second Harvest Food Bank and need your help to feed those that are hungry in our community.
The team kicked off their food drive early Monday morning and so far Jay and Kevin fans have been generous, donating both a lot of food and $5,000 before 10 a.m. Tuesday.
But the food drive isn't over until Friday and Jay and Kevin need to fill a truck with donations, and they need your help to do it.
In the past they've collected around 20,000 pounds of food, but in recent years donations have dropped off a little. They're hoping the community can step up and make this year their biggest ever.
"It started 18 years ago when we thought you know this is the United States, this is the Inland Northwest, why should kids be hungry? And I think that is kind of how it got its basis," Jay said.
"It's our favorite charity, it's such an easy fix, you don't have to find a cure, we know people are hungry, you bring food, you bring crash donations and we can solve the problem," Kevin added.
Slim will be camped out in the Tomato Street parking lot on North Division 24/7 all week through Friday at 10 a.m. taking donations.
