SPOKANE -

A South Hill homeowner was shot and killed by an intruder Sunday evening and the gunman is still at large.

The shooting happened around 7 p.m. in the 2500 block of South Garfield.

Spokane Police say 30 officers responded to the shooting initially and a K-9 was deployed to search for the gunman.

The homeowner was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say this does not appear to be a random shooting.

The shooter is still on the loose.
