SPOKANE, Wash. -

Home sales may have fallen in November but for 2013, sales are actually up 22-percent for the year.

According to Rob Higgins, executive vice president of Spokane Associates and Realtors, there were over 5,000 home sales for the first time in six years.

Higgins said November sales could be down because of the government shutdown in October affecting home loans.

The numbers also reflect slower home sales during winter months.
