Spokane Police have taken a suspect into custody, bringing to an end the standoff at a home in the vicinity of the 1100 block of W. Frederick after receiving a call about shots being fired Friday afternoon.

The call came in around 3 pm and, as the first officer was arriving at the home, a shot was heard inside a home.

Spokane Police shut down the 1100 block of W. Frederick, evacuated all the homes in the neighborhood and brought in the SWAT Team and a negotiator.

Shortly before 6 pm the man came out of his home peacefully and was escorted by police down the street where he was placed on a stretcher.
