AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -

Race fans, get ready! The O'Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Grand Prix is running this weekend, with the proceeds going to a great cause.

All proceeds from ticket sales this weekend go to the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery, and those tickets get you not only in the gates but down into the pits with the drivers and, for a small donation, the opportunity to get behind the wheel of one of the cars.

"This is road racing and it is a different form of drag or circuit track," Steve McLain with Northwest Motor Sports said.

There will be more than 40 classes of cars racing this weekend down at the Spokane County Raceway McLain added.

"One thing that is unique here is that you can go into the pits and talk to the drivers and really get up close and see what this sports like behind the scenes," he said.

This is the first year the O'Reilly Auto Parts Northwest Grand Prix is partnering with the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

"We really rely on the events we do, so to have these guys come to us and offer this opportunity to take the proceeds from this event it just really means that were keeping more kids safe in our community," Vanessa Behan's Amy Knapton said.

"It's really cool," she added. "I can't wait to come out and see it all in action and I can imagine it's loud and just really exciting."
