SPOKANE, Wash. -

Friends and family from Idaho and Washington helped raise money for the parents of the 17-month-old baby who detectives say died at the hands of his stepfather three weeks ago.

Maliki Wilburn's father, Antonio Wilbun, says Maliki was already a big Raider's fan.

Sunday afternoon, Raiders fans gathered inside Spokane Valley's Flaming Joe's to purchase Raider's merchandise to help with the family's financial needs for Maliki.

Maliki was found inside his home with severe head trauma Friday, August 26th. He had difficultly breathing and was flown to Sacred Heart Hospital where he died the next day. Antonio says the family buried Maliki in Coeur d'Alene Satrurday and it was the hardest thing he's ever had to do as a father.

"Words can't really describe it. It's nice to see the support of hundreds of people in our community and show that the love for my son," Wilburn said.

Police arrested Maliki's stepfather, Joseph Davis, who was at the home at the time of Maliki's death. He is facing homicide charges.
