SPOKANE, Wash. -

When we leave this earth, what better way to do it than to have your friends and family by your side? Leland Johnson got that Saturday.

Leland has battled cancer for the past year and a half. Recently his doctors told him, his wife, and his four-year-old daughter that there's nothing more they can do.

So the Johnsons left the hospital in Seattle and took a trip to Disneyland before coming home one final time.

Dozens of family, friends, even strangers wanted to surround Johnson with love, the same care he's given all of them. It's why they lined up to greet Leland and wish him well.

Midway through Saturday’s homecoming Leland needed to rest. It's been a long battle, but there was still more love to come.

“It's unbelievable,” Leland’s father-in-law Don Dyer said. “He's such a fantastic guy, he really is. If I could go through a catalog and pick out all the things I would want for my daughter, he would be the perfect pick."

Now, Leland and his family will spend the few months, or even weeks he has left, together. To reminisce, remember, and make more memories before Leland leaves this earth.

"Until something like this happens, you never know how many lives you've touched, or what kind of a person you were," Leland said.
