SPOKANE, Wash. -

Spokane area drivers will get a great chance to get some free maintenance done on their cars on Saturday.

Automotive students from Spokane Community College and the Spokane Skills Center will be giving free lighting checks in the Staples parking lot on Division Street.

It's pretty hard to know if your brake lights and turn signals are working right when you are sitting in the driver's seat and that's why every fall volunteers from the Automotive Service Association are glad to take a look for you.

"I think it's wonderful. They let you know what's wrong with your vehicle," driver Shirley Shaw said.

If mechanics find something was wrong with a car's lighting system, those bulbs will be replaced at no charge.

You'll find the "Lights on for Safety" crew at Division and Foothills in the Staples parking lot Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
