Accident response teams went to work Thursday afternoon, recreating a fatal rollover accident that went unnoticed for nearly 24 hours.
Investigators say the accident likely happened sometime Wednesday night. A young woman rolled her vehicle down an embankment near the 25800 block of E. River Road. She was not wearing her seatbelt and was ejected when the car flipped several times.
The crash wasn't reported until someone came across it Thursday afternoon and called it in.
The road was closed for several hours until crews could retrieve the vehicle. The driver was identified and her family notified, but a name has not been released.
Investigators aren't sure whether drugs or alcohol played a factor, or if she may have been distracted. Weather could also have played a part, but it's too early in the investigation to know for sure.
