The Spokane County Explosive Unit destroyed explosives found in Orofino Sunday evening.
Around 6:45 p.m. deputies from the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office responded to a call of explosives located by the rail road tracks near independence Road and Grangemont Road in Orofino.
When they arrived, deputies determined the items were suspicious and appeared to be explosive. They then requested assistance from the Spokane County Explosive Unit.
The explosive unit arrived and discovered the items were the explosive part for grenades.
They then destroyed the items.
