A star of the hit TV show "Deadliest Catch" is recovering in the hospital after he was reportedly assaulted in Everett Saturday night.
Jake Harris' brother, Josh Harris, posted a video to Facebook Sunday discussing the attack. It has been shared more than 50,000 times. In the video, Harris claims the assault happened Saturday night after his brother got into a vehicle with several other people.
Harris claims Jake's skull was cracked, and he was tossed from a moving vehicle. Everett police confirm Harris was found on the side of State Route 526 after leaving a vehicle, but could not say whether that vehicle was moving or at what speed.
When police first arrived on scene, Jake Harris refused medical attention and was taken home. He was then taken to the hospital by family or friends.
In the video Josh Harris asks for prayers for his brother. "Say prayers for my brother," he said. "I like to keep people updated on good positive things. But, unfortunately today it's just been visits to the ER."
At this time police say they are still working with witnesses and nearby businesses to gather surveillance video and information about potential suspects. Police say they have also received several tips from the public.
In the video, Josh Harris names two people from the Spokane area as his brother's attackers. That information is not confirmed. Spokane police and the Spokane County Sheriff's Office are not involved in the investigation.
