SPOKANE, Wash. -

A rescued colt that was among more than 60 rescued earlier this month from Janice Hickerson's property on the West Plains has died.

SCRAPS confirmed the colt's death Wednesday afternoon. The colt was five months old and was the only one among the 63 rescued in November and 26 rescued in July from Hickerson's property that passed away.

When the colt was rescued he was orphaned, with no sign of the mother on Hickerson's property, and was emaciated and malnourished.

A warrant for Hickerson's arrest has been issued on various charges including 21 counts of animal cruelty from the rescue of horses from her property in July. She was not on the property when the horses were taken in November and has not been seen since.

If you know her whereabouts you're asked to contact the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.
