Women's NCAA comes to Spokane
The Lilac City is gaining more momentum in the national spotlight for major sporting events. The NCAA women's tournament is rolling into town for the second straight weekend.
The court is set up and the hoops are ready to go, with the NCAA logo pasted everywhere.
You could say arena general manager Matt Gibson is excited, but it would be an understatement.
"It's a lot of work, but it's totally worth it when we finally see that final buzzer on Monday night. It's going to be a great feeling," Gibson said.
LSU, Stanford, California and Georgia will all play on the hardwood here. One will move on to the final four in New Orleans.
Gibson says ticket sales are already off to a great start. "We're right about two-thirds full right now, so there are tickets available right now," he said.
The arena is also already looking forward to next year when the men's NCAA tournament rolls into town. It might be a year away, but the arena already has a sweet deal for you.
"If you buy an all-session through Saturday, you get access to our men's event next year which is a great thing," Gibson said.
Because basketball and Spokane go hand in hand.
