When is the best time to buy Halloween candy?
We're five days away from Halloween meaning it's time to stock up on candy ... but don't do it quite yet.
Not everyone can be the cool neighbor with king-size candy bars but buying the fun-size bags can still take a bite out of your wallet.
When buying candy know that chocolate is always more expensive. If you're trying to save big skip it and go for candy like Skittles, Starbursts or suckers. Those are usually about ten cents less per ounce than chocolate.
If the price per ounce isn't on the price tag at the store just take the price of the candy and divide it by the number of ounces in the bag.
Finally wait until Halloween to buy your candy. Stores are packed with goodies right now and, like you, they don't want to be left with a bunch of it.
Usually stores will have buy-one-get-one deals and other really good discounts on candy on Halloween.
Plus you probably shouldn't have it just hanging around the house until that night anyway.
