PULLMAN, Wash. -

Washington State University Police have given the 'All Clear' after officers responded to a 'shot fired' call in the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Olympia Avenue SE and quickly resolved the situation.

It turned out that the call was precipitated by the discovery of a window on a car was shot out, possibly with a BB gun, near Rogers Hall.

A campus-wide emergency text alert was sent out to faculty, students and staff about the incident just before 2 p.m. Thursday. The alert said police were responding to a report, no injuries had been reported and the Child Care Center was taking appropriate precautions.

The call was confined to the 1300 and 1400 blocks of Olympia Ave. SE and authorities said there were "no known threats" outside that area.

WSU Police initially asked the community to stay indoors and away from the area where they were investigating the report, and cautioned people to "exercise appropriate personal security precautions."

By 2:20 p.m. the police issued a follow-up notification announcing the emergency had been cancelled and the situation on Olympia Ave. had been resolved.
