Two people, who were high on meth, caused flooding that ruined the Pheasant Hill Inn and Suite's $2 million renovation, according to the hotel manager.
Around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, sheriff's deputies were called out to the 12000 block of East Mission in the Spokane Valley.
The hotel manager said the couple had broken off two sprinkler heads in their hotel room, causing water to spew everywhere. Employees tried to get in the room to stop the water, but the couple had locked themselves inside.
The water flooded two-thirds of the entire hotel and destroyed the hotel's $2 million renovation project.
All of the occupants in the hotel were evacuated.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they arrested the couple.
One of them already had a warrant, and both of them were arrested for malicious mischief, according to the Spokane County Sheriff's Office.
