A man is expected to be charged with reckless boating, following a boat collision near Lyons Ferry State Park.

Just after 5 p.m. Sunday, a boat driven by Vitaliy Romadin, 32, of Walla Walla, crashed into the shoreline. When the Whitman County Sheriff's Marine Patrol Unit responded to the scene, they found the boat destroyed and partially submerged.

The collision caused one of the passengers to be thrown from the boat and onto the shore. That person sustained minor injuries.

Sheriff Brett Myers said the case will be forwarded to the prosecutor's office later this week, but Romadin is expected to be charged with reckless boating.

Myers said he doesn't know how fast the boat was going at the time of the crash.
