SPOKANE, Wash. -

A Spokane Police K-9 is being praised for helping capture two burglary suspects.

Friday night around 11:45, police were called to a burglary in progress at Holz Fuel on the 5500 block of North Market.

The responding officer, with the help of his K-9 "Duke" quickly found one of the suspects who got stuck in a window while trying to flee.

The K-9 then found the second suspect hiding three blocks away.

34-year-old Christopher Lincoln and 20-year-old Bogdan Putout were both booked into jail for first degree burglary.

According to police, K-9s are trained to track the scent of fleeing/hiding criminal suspects and their ability is unmatched by any modern technology.
