Pedestrian hit by truck, breaks leg downtown

SPOKANE, Wash. -

A woman was crossing a downtown Spokane street Thursday morning when she was hit by a truck.

The collision happened at Washington Street and Riverside Avenue around 7:30 a.m.

Spokane police said the woman was in a crosswalk, crossing Riverside Avenue, when she was hit.

The driver of the truck that hit her did not see the woman and hit her while making a left hand turn off Washington Street.

The woman suffered a broken leg while the driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
