The Department of Defense has confirmed that a man from Spokane has died in Afghanistan.
Jarrod Lallier, 20, died Monday from wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with small arms fire and grenades.
He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.
Lallier was a Mead High School 2010 graduate.
According to a former employee from Pattison's North, Lallier was a "great kid that everyone at the rink liked. He will be greatly missed."
