Matthew wants to be a WSU Cougar
Matthew is a huge Washington State University fan and would love to play football for them someday.
Matthew, 15, lives on the west side and likes it there, but he is drawn to the palouse.
"I am a cougar fan," he said.
Matthew isn't one of those bandwagon fans.
"Even if they have a losing record and stuff, I'll play for them," said Matthew.
Coach Mike Leach might want to keep an eye on him because Matthew is very athletic.
"I like sports like football, basketball, baseball, stuff like that," he said.
Matthew isn't just a jock, he likes music, too.
"I play guitar and drums every now and then. It's fun, it keeps me out of trouble," he said.
When Matthew grows up, he wants to do something with his life that helps other people.
"I'd like to be a firefighter or a cop," he said.
He wants to inspire other people, just like he was inspired.
"My next door neighbor was a sheriff. It was really inspiring because he was really, really nice," he said.
However, Matthew needs a stable family to help him reach his goals.
"I want a loving, caring family and, like, parents who are going to be there for me. Parents who know that I like music and stuff like that and can help me with that," he said.
He knows that he has missed a lot by growing up in foster care. Although he is being cared for, it isn't the same as having his own family.
"I'm missing people to say 'I love you' to and actually being there and talk to if I need help," Matthew said.
He has a lot to offer to a family.
"I would bring more talent to a family. Like humor and stuff like that," he said.
He knows there is a family out there for him, and he has a message for them.
"You'll really like me once you get to know me, and adopt me," said Matthew.
