Grant County Sheriff's deputies arrested a Mattawa man Saturday evening on allegations he sexually assaulted one of his own children.
Deputies and EMTs were called to a Mattawa home on Saturday evening by a woman who claimed one of her children had been raped. The woman told deputies she and her husband had been in an argument and she fled the house and went to a relative's home for help.
When she returned she found evidence her 10-year-old daughter had been sexually assaulted and called 9-1-1.
When deputies arrived, three of them attempted to arrest the woman's husband but he first refused to open the door and then, when they were inside the residence, refused to obey the deputies. Deputies used a Tazer on him twice to subdue.
The man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody and booked into the Grant County Jail on suspicion of first degree rape of a child.
The victim was taken to a Yakima hospital where she underwent surgery for her injuries. Another child was also taken to the hospital for unspecified injuries.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
