Man escaped tribal police patrol car in handcuffs

AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. -

A suspected criminal escaped from Spokane tribal police in Airway Heights on Tuesday afternoon.

According to officers, the man was taken into custody at the Lantern Park Motel and put into the patrol car. However, as investigators were inside the motel, the man managed to escape out the window. He ran into a nearby field in handcuffs.

The man ran more than a mile before he was cornered on Deno Road by officers and a K-9.
