SPOKANE, Wash. -

A man is in the Spokane County jail for putting a gun to a woman's head and then stealing her car.

According to Spokane police, a woman was walking to her car just before 8:30 p.m. Friday on the 4100 block of North Division. A man approached her, put a gun to her head and stole her car.

Officers arrived at the scene and spotted the woman's car leaving Northtown Mall about 20 minutes after the incident was reported. Officers said they followed the car into the parking lot of Office Depot, near the mall. Police said when they tried to stop the suspect, he tried to drive away, but officers positioned their cars so he couldn't leave the parking lot.

Police arrested Michael Lezard, 25, for first-degree robbery and possession of a stolen firearm. Police said the handgun that was found in his car was stolen.

As officers cleared the scene, they spotted another stolen car right across the street in the Money Tree parking lot. Officers confronted the occupants in the car and the driver, Stephen Link, 46, was booked into jail for possession of a stolen motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin.
