Knitting Factory may reopen
Spokane officials are close to reinstating the entertainment license for a downtown concert venue that was shut down Monday after two shootings.
City Attorney Nancy Isserlis told The Spokesman-Review that Police Chief Frank Straub and Knitting Factory operator Greg Marchant have had productive talks on increasing security.
Straub pulled the license after two separate shootings early Monday outside the nightclub.
He said it was a public safety problem because of shootings over the past year.
A press conference will be held Thursday morning regarding a possible agreement between the police department and the Knitting Factory.
